Exterior Plaster Flashing Skill Share

Monday, January 30
Doors at 6:00pm, presentation from 6:30 to 8:30pm
Q&A After

Join Noel Adams from Traditional Natural Plaster Company, Bernhard Masterson of the Urban Earth Center, EcoBuilding Guild members, and interested local builders for our first Skill Share session of 2012. Learn how to properly install flashing around windows and doorways as well as on stem walls. The presentation will include a demonstration and photos.

Following the presentation we’ll have time to ask questions, share experiences, and socialize.  Potluck snacks and beverages are encouraged.

A donation of $5 to $10 is suggested, 60% of which will be given to Noel to compensate him for his time, and 40% to support the work of the Portland-Western Columbia chapter of the NW EcoBuilding Guild.

We are changing our name!

While we are working our way towards becoming a non-profit, we’re doing some serious thinking about our vision and one of the results is that we have come up with a new name and logo.   So now among other things we are working on a new website, but it is not yet finished so stay tuned.

Oven Workshop a Success

Can you build with cob in the rain? We’ll yes and we proved it once again during our recent workshop. A great group of participants weathered two days of inclement weather to learn how to build cob ovens. Camaraderie was high in spite of the damp conditions. James has offered a pizza party to participants once he has gotten his home remodel to the point where he has a functional kitchen. When the announcement goes out, I’ll be the first one there.
